Combustible Dust Awareness for Coal Proctored – PRB is a proctored safety program presented by the PRB (Powder River Basin) Coal Users’ Group.

 

Recommended For

All utility construction and contracted maintenance and services personnel who will be working at power-generating facilities.

 

Course Content

This course uses a combination of interactive exercises and teachable moments, as well as traditional learning methods, to teach:

  • Coal Characteristics
  • Coal and Coal Dust Hazards
  • Housekeeping Methods
  • Ways to Protect Yourself from Identified Coal Dust Hazards

Interactive exercises present situational hazards and provide the student the opportunity to select the appropriate action to take in such situations, while teachable moments present real-life events that have taken place and the resulting changes that have been implemented throughout the coal industry as a result of these events.
