Basic Orientation Plus Refresher® (BOPR) (ARSC)

Course Information

Basic Orientation Plus Refresher (BOPR) (ARSC) was developed by the Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC) as an annual refresher course after initial completion of Basic Orientation Plus (course code 22 Basic Plus).

This course is an awareness-level general safety orientation for the construction and contracted maintenance/services industry which qualifies as an OSHA mandated orientation.

The student will review the basic fundamentals covered in Basic Orientation Plus:

  • Introduction
  • Process Safety Management
  • General Employee Safety
  • HAZCOM and GHS
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Respiratory Protection
  • Hearing Conservation
  • Electrical Safety
  • Lockout / Tagout
  • Fall Protection
  • Scaffolding
  • Excavations, Trenching, Shoring
  • Job Hazard / Job Safety Analysis
  • Emergency Action Plan
  • Fire Prevention
  • Hazard Awareness, Hazard Abatement, Lead/Radiation/Asbestos Awareness, Materials Handling, Slips/Trips/Falls, and Housekeeping are integrated and discussed throughout the program.

NOTE: This program is not meant to provide site location specific, job specific, or OSHA task specific training. It is the responsibility of the employer to provide job specific and task specific training. Additional site-specific training may be required for each facility where work will be performed.

Reader Assistance Allowed: Yes, but may not be accepted by all facilities and will not be reciprocal with other ARSC safety councils
ID Requirements: Students must present a valid (not expired) U.S. State or Federal ID with photo and Social Security card if number is not on the ID

Valid ARSC Card (BOP/BOPR): Yes, but no later than 90 days after expiration date
Social Security Verification (SSV): Yes (cost included in unit price)
