Dow SCO Basic Site Specific Orientation

Course Information

Dow SCO Basic Site Specific Orientation is the site-specific contractor orientation course for the Dow Chemical St. Charles Operations facility in Hahnville, LA.

NOTES

1) Students must have a currently valid ARSC card (BOP/BOPR) prior to taking this course.

2) After successful completion of this course, the Student MUST take course 08SCOIES.

After course 08SCOIES is successfully completed, the Student MUST take course 08SCOSU and successfully complete, IF not shown on a Dow Badge or ARSC card to have been taken previously. Course 08SCOSU is required to be taken and successfully completed ONCE (50 year expiration).

3) If any of the required courses (08SCOSSB, 08SCOIES, 08SCOSU) are NOT successfully completed, NONE of the course codes shall be printed on the safety council card.

4) A Background Screen is required of each Student, but is not a prerequisite. The Contractor Company must submit a Background Screen Verification Form to Dow SCO Security prior to having the student take this course 08SCOSSB. This Form is supplied by the Safety Council upon registration, and the Contractor Company must Fax the completed Form to Welcome Center at 985-783-3267.

Course Length (approx.): 1 Hour 40 Minutes plus Test
Course Expiration: 1 Year from Class Date
Passing Score Required: 80% – if a test question is missed, it is reviewed but not asked again
Retakes Allowed: Yes – 5 retakes allowed and must pay for each retake; if a Student fails and would like a retake beyond what is allowed, the Contractor Company must contact Dow, who will notify KCUC whether or not a retake is granted.
Language: English
Reader Assistance Allowed: No – unless an exception is given by Dow
ID Requirements: Students must present a valid (not expired) U.S. State or Federal ID with photo and separate Social Security card if the SSN is not on the ID – No Exceptions.
Handouts: No
Course Exceptions: Any exception must be requested by the Contractor Company, not the Student, and is subject to approval by Dow.
