Chromium VI General Awareness

Course Information

Chromium VI General Awareness is the course designed to create awareness of OSHA Hexavalent Chromium (Cr VI) standard 29 CFR 1910.1026, safety measures, and protective systems for work in areas with possible exposure to Hexavalent Chromium.

NOTE:  Some additional training may be necessary to meet actual site-specific requirements.

 

Recommended For

All construction and contracted maintenance and services personnel involved in working in or around Hexavalent Chromium areas.

This course includes discussion of the following topics:

  • OSHA Health Standard for Hexavalent Chromium
  • Routes of Exposure
  • Health Hazards and Effects of Exposure and Overexposure to Hexavalent Chromium
  • Methods to Reduce Exposure and Air Monitoring
  • Medical Procedures for Exposure to Hexavalent Chromium
  • Respirators
  • Procedure for Exiting a Designated Hexavalent Chromium Containing Area
  • Prohibited Items for Hexavalent Chromium Area
