Course Information

Marathon Catlettsburg HF Alky is the orientation for performing work in the Hydrofluoric Acid Alkylation areas at the Marathon Petroleum facility in Catlettsburg, KY.

NOTES

1) Students must have a currently valid ARSC card (BOP/BOPR) prior to taking this course.                  
2) Additional training courses may be needed depending upon the level of work. Please refer to your contract or your Marathon onsite contact for further training requirements.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: A physical walk-through of the site facility is required after this course has been successfully completed. A special Badge is printed at the Regulatory Training Center England Hills Site upon completion of the walk-through.   

 

Recommended For

All construction and contracted maintenance and services personnel who will be working in the HF Alky areas at this site.

This course includes covering the General Safety Rules for ALL personnel authorized to make entry in the HF Alky operations areas at this site, including:

  • Properties of HF Acid
  • Effects of HF Acid on the Human Body
  • First Aid for HF Acid Exposure
  • Safety Work Permit in the HF Alky Unit
  • Alky Change House Regulations
  • Protective Clothing
  • Safety Showers in the HF Alky Unit
  • Maintenance Practices and Procedures
  • Chemicals Used in the HF Alky Unit
