Brad Thomas, Economic Development Professional with East Kentucky Power Cooperative, will discuss “Economic Offerings and Development – Why Not Kentucky”, an overview of efforts to maximize economic development opportunities for Kentucky.

About Our Guest Speaker

Brad Thomas is an Economic Development Professional with East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC). Brad works with EKPC's 16 owner/member cooperatives to maximize economic development opportunities in their 87 county service area. The focus is on foreign direct investment, business recruitment and expansion as well as developing opportunities for existing businesses through exporting, credits and financing programs under the marketing banner of Kentucky's Touchstone Energy Cooperatives.

Brad’s key activities are to develop and maintain relationships with economic development professionals and organizations including KentuckyUnited efforts.

A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, Brad had a 25 year career in state government in the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet, Kentucky Finance and Administrative Cabinet, and Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development before working for EKPC.

Brad is a Board member of several organizations including Kentucky Aerospace Industry Consortium, Kentucky Association for Economic Development, Foundation for Kentucky Industry, and World Trade Center Kentucky.

In 2016, Brad was inducted in the Frankfort Outdoor Volleyball Hall of Fame as player, coach, broadcaster, tournament organizer, and commissioner.
